How I got started in lingerie

In my senior year of high school I needed a part time job, and I knew of a local lingerie boutique the mom of a friend owned. I put my name out there and with a little perseverance and displays of responsibility I was offered a part time job tagging merchandise, cleaning out dressing rooms and other basic retail store maintenance.  

Everyday for just a few hours I was exposed to the world of lingerie, and I fell in love. The lace, the attention to detail, the colors, the fashion shows… I could not get enough. As time went on I learned about the different brands we carried, which ones sold better than others, why people liked them, why people did not like them and which colors were popular in which seasons. I started to see the trends in fashion, how merchandise got ordered and suddenly I realized there was a lot more to bras than I thought.

I (like most women) wore the wrong bra size all my life, so when my boss put me in a 32/F I almost lost my mind. Now I get to experience that feeling of shock everyday helping customers. It is a joy, and sometimes not, to figure out you were in the wrong bra size. But the more I wore my new 32/F, the better I felt, the better my clothes fit, the happier I was with my appearance. Suddenly for the first time in my life I was not ashamed of my boobs, I actually loved them. Just one bra changed the way I looked at myself from that point on. 

And just like that I knew I wanted to be a bra fitter like my boss and the other ladies at the store. They had such great knowledge on what bras to pull for a customer, which ones to fit for certain necklines and occasions, how the color red works under white and to size up at least one cup for a strapless bra. Now I explain the same information taught to me, and I continue to learn new things about bras every single day. I look forward to sharing that knowledge with as many people as possible, bras can make such a difference for everyone.
